How to use Genius eLab


Some tips to better use Genius eLab

1.1. System Overview

Genius eLab e-learning system that offers workshops in entrepreneurship, robotics, programming, android programming, video editing, computer sciences to kids from 4 – 17 years old. Genius eLab enable public users to register for an online account, manage their accounts, pay and enroll in a workshop, solve and submit assignments, post and comment on blog post, chat and ask for assistant from administrators and other users of the system.
Genius eLab is accessible to all public users via the internet at To perform the ‘core functions’, users must register for and obtain a public account

1.2.Organization of the Manual


Request for access to, inquiries on the use of the application, and comments on the design and functionalities of the application should be sent to the dedicated e-mail address

2.1.Getting your credentials

Before you can begin, you must have a working User name and Password. You must log in to enroll and access courses.


To self-register, follow these steps:
1. Access the application at then click on the START button at the top right corner.
2. Click on Create new account button from the sign up windows found at the bottom right corner of the page
3. On the New Account window, fill in your information in the fields. Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required, those without asterisk are optional fields. Click on Create my new account after filling the information
4. You will then receive a confirmation email with a link to follow and complete the registration. Below are the various screen shots
5. For users who already have accounts, fill in your username and password then click on Log in to log in into your account.


To use Genius eLab, you need:
● A PC that is connected to the internet
● An internet browser(Genius eLab supports Mozilla Firefox, Google chrome, internet explorer, tor, opera mini )
● Minimum 2G RAM
Optionally, students can use smartphones and Web-enabled mobile devices to access courses and monitor their progress.
2.3.Updating your profile

Individual users can edit their profiles by clicking the Edit profile link accessed from the Profile page in the user menu (top right).
●click on username → Edit profile. From here you will be able to edit you personal information including user name, email, town, country and even profile picture.

3.1.Selecting a workshop

On genius eLab we offer workshops ranging from Robotics, mobile application development, scratch programming, toddler tech, entrepreneurship, hacking(c and python programming). There are two ways for you to select a workshop
1. Selecting from the top menu (Workshops).
2. Selecting from popular workshops just below the slide shows.
After selecting a workshop, you will be redirected to the workshop page. On the worshop, you will then scroll down and click on enroll. You will then need to login if you already have an account or create a new account following the steps in chapter 2

Step one: select your course from menu bar

Step two: scroll down and click on the enroll button

Step three: double click on the Enroll button, we will then be redirected to the payment page.

Step 2: Fill in your PayPal credentials

Using WeCashup

WeCashup is an online payment platform that accept mobile money payments. To for your course using WeCashup, follow the following steps:

Step 1: Log into your account, select the course you wish to buy then click on enroll.

Step 2: Click on Pay by Mobile Money

Step 3: Click on TELECOM, your country code, enter your number then click on the amount to pay.

Step 4: On your phone, compose *126*1*1# and transfer 100EUR to the phone number.

.......... Enter your Transaction ID then click on Confirm to complete the transaction. Alternatively you can choose orange money. With orange money, on your phone, compose #150*1*1*695636035*32798*YOUR SECRET CODE#.

4.1.Viewing your course list

After logging in, You will be redirected to your course page where you can follow the video tutorial.

4.2. Accessing course content

● To access the content of a workshop click on the title of the lesson or quiz.
● And the content will appear automatically on your dashboard.

4.3. Monitoring course progress
The course progress bar is on your dashboard which display the progress of your various courses
● For example, the progress bar below displays the student’s progress.

The comment module is an activity where "Genius" and mentors can exchange ideas by posting comments. This can contribute significantly to successful communication and community building in an online environment.
To post a comment:
1. Select a particular lesson or quiz which is related with your comment and scroll down.
2. And you will see a text area where you can enter your comments. You may also reply on a particular comment by clicking on Show reply button below the comment.
